This is why these kinds of issues are so hard to suss out. Make sure the face of the dongle, with the piston logo, is facing in your direction. Also, do you use the extender for the dongle that it came with? If not, then you really should be. Keep in in your pocket or on the coffee table in the line of sight and that absolutely can have a major effect on things.
